Behaviour at the Races
A day at the races is above all a moment of relaxation, enjoyment and family leisure. The MTC invites all visitors to uphold a respectful and sporting atmosphere.
Strictly prohibited:
- Shouting, vulgar or insulting language
- Any behaviour disturbing public order
- Throwing objects onto the track
- Firecrackers or any other noise nuisances
Any breach of these rules will result in immediate expulsion and appropriate sanctions.

Reception & Safety
- Information desk available at the entrance of the Stand
- First aid post with a rest area located at the entrance of the stands
Pickpocketing
As in any large gathering, pickpocketing may occur.
Be vigilant: keep personal belongings within sight, and avoid exposing valuables or wallets.
Security cameras are installed at strategic points throughout the Champ de Mars.
Parking in the Plain
Supervised parking available from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Measured weekly using a penetrometer and posted from Thursday:

Photo-Finish – Precision Technology
A high-performance camera, installed directly above the finish line, captures each horse's arrival with extreme accuracy.
A special mirror at the center of the line allows visibility of any horse potentially hidden by another.
Images are processed immediately by a computer, ensuring a reliable, precise and indisputable result.

Apprentice Jockey Allowances
To compensate for lack of experience, apprentice jockeys receive the following weight claims:
- 4 kg until 10 wins
- 3 kg from the 11th to 20th win
- 2 kg from the 21st to 30th win
- No allowance beyond 30 wins
Betting
Racegoers may place bets through:
- Bookmakers
- Tote Lepep
- Supertote
Important reminders:
- Only bet within your means
- Check and keep your receipts until official results are announced
- Illegal or credit betting is prohibited and punishable by law
- Minors are strictly forbidden from betting Report any suspicious activity to the Gaming Police Unit or the GRA
- All betting complaints must be addressed to the Gambling Regulatory Authority
Official Results
A horse is only declared the winner after:
- Validation by the Weighing Judge
- Confirmation by the Stewards
Do not tear up your betting slip until the official result is confirmed.
Laboratory Testing
To ensure fairness and integrity:
- Blood and/or urine samples are taken from every runner after the official race card is published, and tested upon arrival at the lab
- Random testing is also conducted on jockeys at the start of each race day
Any horse testing positive for a banned substance will be disqualified, and the official result will be amended.
However, betting payouts remain valid and final once results are announced.
