Mauritian jockeys shine with multiple wins at Riverton and Ascot.
It was a stellar weekend for our boys based in New Zealand, especially for Yogesh Atchamah.
His weekend of success began at Riverton on Friday with a double. He rode Orepuki Gem to victory in the opening race, then doubled his tally aboard Chevron in the feature race of the day.
Then, yesterday at Ascot Park, he scored another double, winning on Wickham in the 1st race and A Mandarin in the 4th.
Also celebrating yesterday was Ashvin Goindasamy, who notched his first win of the month aboard Wellaintshe in the 3rd race.
Back at Friday's Riverton meeting, three other riders joined Yogesh in the winner's enclosure. They were Gosen Jogoo on Deciphering Me (2nd race), Krishna Mudhoo on David Moss (3rd race), and Ayush Mudhoo on Where's Wally (6th race).
Notably, the podium of the 2nd race was a Mauritian affair, with Teddy Ladouceur (Radiant Pass) and Rohan Mudhoo (Polly's Guru) finishing second and third behind Deciphering Me.
