Of the ten races at Oamaru racecourse yesterday, four were won by Mauritian jockeys – all within the first six races.

Yogesh Atchamah was first to get on the scoresheet, guiding Koyama to victory in the opening contest and leading home Ashvin Goindasamy's mount, Proserve.

Then in Race 3, it was Kavish Chowdhoory's turn to strike, saluting aboard El Vaquero.

The very next race belonged to Gosen Jogoo, who steered Satin Doll to success, before Ayush Mudhoo rounded things off by driving Where's Wally to victory in the sixth race closely followed by Chowdhoory's mount, Alminette.

El Vaquero's win marked the second leg of a weekend double for Kavish Chowdhoory, who had also claimed the third race at New Plymouth on Saturday aboard Za Spirit.
