Hall of Famer Darren Beadman is the latest addition to the Chris Waller stable with the former champion jockey to join the leading yard at the start of the new season.

Waller announced Beadman's appointment in a media release on Tuesday, ending speculation about the future of Godolphin's long-serving assistant trainer.

"Darren is a legendary figure in the world of racing and represents the pinnacle of racing achievement," Waller said.

"Having been a champion jockey and more recently a senior figure at Godolphin, I know he will bring excellence to our team."

Beadman has been employed by Godolphin for over a decade, initially as an assistant to then-head trainer John O'Shea before being promoted to interim head conditioner when O'Shea parted ways with the organisation in 2017.

During that period, Beadman celebrated a Group 1 win as a trainer in his own right with Impending's triumph in the 2017 Stradbroke Handicap.

When James Cummings was subsequently appointed to the top role, Beadman became his right-hand man.

However, with Godolphin recently announcing it was moving to a public training model from August 1 and Cummings opting to take up a training gig in Hong Kong from the start of the 2026-27 racing term, Beadman's future had been unclear.

Waller worked with the former champion rider during his early years in Sydney and regarded Beadman as a valuable addition to his stable's leadership team.

"He will assist with race day operations, trackwork and trials, and serve as a mentor for our emerging talent," Waller said.

"Darren's addition gives us the depth to keep pushing our standards even higher."

Waller has also announced that he will be relocating his Melbourne base to Godolphin's former premises of Carbine Lodge at Flemington

"This iconic complex has housed legendary trainers and countless Group One winners, and it provides a spacious, open environment for our horses," he said.

"Importantly, it enables us to consolidate our Melbourne operations and better showcase our team in Victoria.

"While we close a chapter on our current Flemington base, a site of over 50 Group One wins, it is a move that aligns with our goal of always striving to improve."

Beadman's appointment follows the announcement on Monday that Godolphin's Melbourne foreman Nacim Dilmi would take the reins as head trainer for Domeland, taking over from Sara Ryan.
