Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 11.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Mudgee, Queanbeyan, Hobart, Ballarat, Northam and Port Augusta.
MUDGEE: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
DEION (3) last appeared five weeks ago when he led all the way for a game win in a 1200m Class 2 at this track. Races best with the runs well spaced. Nicely in with the claim and is good enough to go to this next level. SO YOU SUGGEST (8) started favourite but was a victim of circumstances when a forgivable sixth in a 1000m Class 3 at Port Macquarie last time out. Needs this trip now and will be cherry ripe at the third run back from a long spell. ROTHGATE (6) is racing well this prep in easier contests, the latest offering a handy third as favourite over this trip at Narromine. Honest gelding who cannot be ruled out with the senior jockey going on today. PRINCE OF SEPANG (2) bolted in over 1200m at Binnaway recently. Facing a deeper field this time but from the good gate he is an attractive each-way proposition. MISS REBEL (4) gets a pass mark for her first-up effort in a Randwick Highway. Won second-up last prep so she must be considered.
SELECTIONS: Deion to win again.

QUEANBEYAN: RACE 4 @ 2:30 PM
MAGIC SPEED (11) is a big watch on debut after an easy trial win at this track against open company. Was ridden out to win but she couldn't have done any more. LOOKACROSSTHEWATER (10) led them up at Sapphire Coast and faded on a wet track at the first run for the new stable. Big drifter in betting there so suggest improvement to come on a dry track. SCARLET MONARCH (12) has been in the market in both runs this time up north and is an interesting runner here from a good draw. Could be a big improver. WEIRD GOODBYES (4) and MISS INDI (8) have each-way claims.
SELECTIONS: Magic Speed to win. Save on Lookacrossthewater.
HOBART: RACE 9 @ 4:20 PM
RICH GLOW (1) made the most of a change of tactics when leading all of the way to score at Launceston just over 3 weeks ago. He has a good draw and will still be on the up with his fitness. Stick with him. THONATUS (2) caught the eye with a strong late finish at Launceston fresh up just over 3 weeks ago. He gets a big swing in his draw, and with the benefit of a 3kg claim, he can improve his modest track stats second up. Each way. FIORENTE DE LEGEND (6) ran on late here fresh up and will improve with more racing. Include. BERSERKER (4) has been racing well, and with the blinkers back on, he should be right in the thick of things again. Each way claims in an even lineup. BOUNTY BAY (9) is heading the right way with her form and will be peaking third up from a spell. Stick with her.
SELECTIONS: Rich Glow to win.
BALLARAT: RACE 5 @ 2:45 PM
IMPISH LADY (8) resumed as an even money favourite at Geelong and scored with authority, coming clear to win by 2.5 lengths. Finds a very winnable race here with improvement to come and should take beating again. MOOR MUMM (4) wasn't beaten far first up in BM70 grade at Sandown Lakeside despite finishing fifth of six. Can be fitter for that and drops in class for this. FLYING VALLEY (1) resumes. He won first up last time in at Bendigo before being sent out an even money favourite at Pakenham and clearly not handling the going when dropping out. Can run a good race fresh. SAMURAI (2) has ability and should be strong late.
SELECTIONS: Impish Lady to win.
SUNSHINE COAST POLY: RACE 2 @ 1:40 PM
KAREEM (1) capped off some good form with a tough win over 2000m at Gold Coast Poly. Nicely placed to make it 2 wins on the bounce. MAURITA (8) showed pace before lifting to score by a head over 1890m at Toowoomba last start. Her fitness is still improving, and she will be hard to beat again. SINGER SARGENT (2) finished not far away in eighth in a 2000m contest at Gold Coast Poly at his latest appearance. No surprise to see him in the frame at some value. PULPIT (5) is a consistent filly who can be expected to be thereabouts from a handy draw. Include. SAVANNAH GANGSTER (3) is getting fitter with each run back from a spell and is more than capable of figuring in the finish in a field like this.
SELECTIONS: Kareem to go on with it.
NORTHAM: RACE 4 @ 4:15 PM
MT SHIRATAKU (5) trialled like a bomb before his debut and jumped an odds-on pop, but disappointed down the Pinjarra straight. Spelled and has trialled well again coming into this and getting around a bend may suit. Tongue Tie goes on now and if he runs up to his trials, he can get the job done. CANNYKEV (1) is racing in good order without winning, going under in a stronger race at Ascot when favourite last start. The form out of that race has already been franked and he should be at peak fitness now. Going well and should get his chance. SAXON JEWEL (8) finished 1.9L off the winner last start at Ascot and behind Cannykev, but she'll be fitter for that run. She'll get back from the draw, but she's ready to peak third-up and can storm home over the top. ROYAL TALK (10) gets the blinkers on first time now after disappointing fresh and can improve sharply. ORKNEY LAD (6) can improve on the debut effort.
SELECTIONS: Mt Shirataku can return on a winning note.
PORT AUGUSTA: RACE 5 @ 3:45 PM
I'M KENNY (3) once again showed plenty of early dash at Morphettville last start over 1800m before fading late to finish out the back. That effort came in a tougher field and he's capable of bouncing back sharply in this company. Much easier this time and is a track and trip specialist. Will take some reeling in. JAMROCK (6) has been racing consistently without winning. Strips rock-hard fit now and will be charging hard late. CUBAN LORD (4) doesn't win out of turn but boasts solid peaks. Fought on well for third last time at Clare over this trip and finds a similar set-up. In the mix. SANTELMO FUEGO (2) resumes and has form around longer trips but has shown the ability to sprint well fresh. One for exotics.
SELECTIONS: I'm Kenny to win.
