Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 26.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Newcastle, Bathurst, Mornington and Beaudesert.
NEWCASTLE: RACE 3 @ 1:10 PM
HAWKER HALL (5) put a small field away with ease in heavy going last start. Progressive type freshened since then with a recent trial win. Poor draw the biggest threat to another classy result. KIRABATI (2) has a handy strike rate and is proven at this level. Well drawn and is a proven weight carrier. Real deal resuming. PRIMA BELLA (10) resumes up in class but showed genuine talent in handy races last prep. Finds some genuine weight relief and recent trials have been rock solid. MARKWELL DREAMER (6) puts in like a church plate on Sunday and has a reliable first up record. Trialling strongly into this and rails draw at this trip a big plus. Capable of a winning return.
SELECTIONS: Hawker Hall win.

BATHURST: RACE 2 @ 1:35 PM
The scratching of Four Degrees opens this up for KOBOLD (11) who returned from a seventy-eight-week spell for new trainer Toby Pracey last start and did a great job to finish third. Came from well back that day at the end of 1000m at Wellington so the extra furlong will suit her down to the ground. I'M INDEPENDENT (10) looks the hardest to beat after a couple of reasonable efforts this prep over shorter journeys. Gets all the favours from gate one and should be putting in the big ones late. GETTIN' TIPSY (9) ran on evenly without threatening on debut last start over 1000m at Dubbo. Can improve out to this distance. CARRICK (2) was poor last start at Parkes but did place here first-up and can improve.
SELECTIONS: Kobold to win.
MORNINGTON: RACE 4 @ 3:00 PM
GIVE FAITH (4) looks a top chance to break through for an overdue win. Locally trained filly with a consistent record and placed both tries at home. Finds an easier race than last start and gets chance. SUN SETTING (3) was on speed and fought on well to score maiden win when fresh. Shows ability and should have good upside. Take beating again. INNOCENT ENUFF (5) was safely held in richer grade last time but previous form good form this. Gets chance to bounce. SIBEL (7) hit the line hard fresh to place and fitter again. Well weighted with the claim. PIANIST (2) is a lightly raced mare who doesn't win out of turn but has ability and is drawn for a soft run.
SELECTIONS: Have faith in Give Faith.
BEAUDESERT: RACE 2 @ 12:42 PM
SAMMAAN CITY (5) hasn't been too far off them in metropolitan outings of late and will appreciate the sharp drop back in grade here. Will be at peak fitness fourth-up, draws low and hails from an astute barn. Ticks plenty of boxes. ALMALIKAT SARAH (11) just missed the placings at Grafton when facing the starter for the first time and will have taken a bunch of benefit from that race day experience. Gets in well at the weights with the claim and looms as the main danger. PEAK MISS (9) must be respected from the Freedman camp and only needs some luck navigating from the wide draw to play a role in the finish. WILL IT SNOW (7) next in line.
SELECTIONS: Sammaan City to break through.
