Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 2.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meeting are today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown, Eagle Farm, Murray Bridge and Northam.
WARWICK FARM: RACE 1 @ 12:50 PM
Scratchings have decimated the first race. VANLEE (8) showed plenty of pace and didn't lie down when the pressure went on, only to miss out narrowly when resuming over 1100m at Hawkesbury last start. This is not a deep maiden so with a little natural improvement she can go one better. DYAMI (2) impressed first-up at this track then was too bad to be true at Canterbury last time. Worth another chance with visors going on for the first time. RACH (6) did little when resuming at Canterbury a fortnight ago. Can improve but a win would surprise. The other runner EDORADO (3) is on debut and probably needs this hit-out.
SELECTIONS: Vanlee to open her account.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 4 @ 2:10 PM
The tactics on DREAM ALL DAY (3) will be interesting as they opted to take her back from a wide gate first up at Flemington and she struggled to get into a slowly run race. This sister to Atishu showed plenty of ability last time in and getting to 1600m will suit ideally. Drawn wide again here is the query. PARIAH PEARL (1) will have no such map issues, a likely leader in the race. She's racing consistently well of late and does drop slightly in grade from recent efforts. Should be in this for a long way. SOUND IT OUT (12) worked home well in the same race as Pariah Pearl last time to grab third. She's an improving sort who will likely get over further in the future but should be hard to hold out here. SUANCES (4) can mix her form but the win two back over Changing Colours is excellent form. Just needs the right run from a potentially tricky gate. BLISTERING (5) is another hot and cold sort but she has the figures to be competitive.
SELECTIONS: Dream All Day on top.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 5 @ 2:18 PM
DIANA'S AFFAIR (8) stepped up to a mile and was back to his best winning a CL3 easily at Doomben. Jones is a key jockey booking and he maps for the run of the race. Carries less weight and the extra metres should hold no fears. He can go on with the job. TWIGMAN (5) picked up impressively and was too good for the 66 graders at the Gold Coast over this trip 25 days ago. He's had two trials since and draws for a soft run. A player. MISS CHENERY (10) is knocking on the door and her numbers stack up. Draws the outside and tumbles in weight. That brings her right into it. CHAYSE 'N' ARTIE (2) is third up with more to give. The longer distance suits and he can't be ruled out. GRINZINGER KNIGHT (1) continues to race well and won a 75 at Doomben last time over 1650m. He races forward and keeps Lang's 1.5kg claim. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: With Diana's Affair.
MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 6 @ 3:05 PM
SAV ON ICE (7) gets his chance to win another race here. He's going well but conceding too much of a start in stronger races. He's likely to get back here but will be thundering late, and, in this class, he can run them down with the claim. HEADPHONES (1) is a track and distance specialist and while she's getting on in age, her recent form suggests she's going well. She's another who will be hitting the line hard with the 4kg claim. COVERT WITNESS (11) is racing well in tougher grade and looks a genuine each-way chance in this. PRICILLA'S CHOICE (8) has plenty of class on her day but she does mix her form.
SELECTIONS: Sav On Ice to win.
NORTHAM: RACE 5 @ 3:30 PM
GLANCED (7) showed some class when out to 1400m last start, scoring comfortably after sitting on the speed throughout. CJP remains in the saddle and she should be prominent in the run yet again. Looks to have more improvement to come and she can bring up back-to-back wins. APHRODITE MAGIC (5) was far too good over 1100m here last time out and steps up to 1400m for the first time. She disappointed over 1300m two back, though Chris Parnham rides now and if she can run up to her recent effort, she'll be hard to hold out. ZOUCONI (8) missed out last start when beaten 1.1L when looking to have her chance. Fitter now however, and some gear changes should help her chances. Pike remains in the saddle and she's likely to be in the finish once again. BLUE PEPPER (6) is better than she showed first-up and up to 1400m is a big tick. Can improve. HIGHLAND FLAIR (2) bumped into one last start and won't be far away.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Glanced.
