Bugalugs catches the eye as Preetam Daby’s team dominates a calm morning on the sand.
In stark contrast to the high-energy scenes witnessed yesterday, this morning's training session at the Champ de Mars unfolded in a much quieter atmosphere. Preetam Daby's string dominated the session, with a few horses from the Selvom Mootien yard joining the fray for a series of fast workouts.
First to hit the sand track were Cider House Rules and Liquid, who paired up for a 1000m gallop. Both moved fluently, displaying a smooth change of gears in the home straight.
The duo of Hardfallingrain and Sea Dance followed, with Hardfallingrain pulling away from his stablemate while climbing the hill.
Over 1400m, Times New Roman delivered a composed and professional effort, maintaining a solid rhythm throughout. Stable companion Whipping Boy responded gamely to his rider's urgings, accelerating smartly in the closing stages.
A notable highlight came from newcomer Bugalugs, who partnered with the seasoned Bless My Path in a brisk 1000m spin. Despite being lower-rated, Bugalugs kept pace admirably, suggesting he could be one to follow in upcoming outings.
The morning wrapped up with Short Cut and Zooberi producing a strong joint effort, powering up the final stretch and the hill with intent and strength.
