Racing and Sports' rundown on the final day of Royal Ascot.
RACE 1 - Listed Chesham Stakes (1408m)
Charlie Appleby has struggled this week so TREANMOR (5) may ensure he doesn't go home empty handed having looked good winning on debut at Newmarket (Rowley). Suited for the step up to 1400m. Consider. The Aidan O'Brien-trained MOMENTS OF JOY (8) won at Leopardstown (1500m) earlier in the month and is proven tackling the trip. Debut Newbury winner HUMIDITY (2) commands respect with further improvement expected racing for top connections. THESECRETADVERSARY (4) holds each-way appeal.
RACE 2 - G2 Hardwicke Stakes (2405m)
Class prevailed when REBEL'S ROMANCE (9) claimed the G2 Yorkshire Cup over 2800m by a head in May. The multiple G1 winner trained by Charlie Appleby will be better suited by this drop back to 2400m and can complete a double racing for top connections. AL RIFFA (2) brings top-class form. Shaped nicely when fourth behind a subsequent G1 winner in the 2100m G1 Prix Ganay at Longchamp and must be respected with first-time blinkers applied. Amo Racing secured a big-money purchase in GHOSTWRITER (7) who could be thereabouts on form of his fourth in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic over 1800m at Meydan two back. SPACE LEGEND (10) cannot be completely dismissed.
RACE 3 - G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (1207m)
INISHERIN (5) looked in need of the run landing the G2 Duke Of York Stakes on reappearance in May. Trained by Kevin Ryan and may take a step forward for that effort. Can win revisiting the same course and distance as his G1 Commonwealth Cup triumph last season. New Wathnan Racing purchase LAZZAT (8) maintains high class form over 1200m and could be set for this following his smooth success in a Listed event at Chantilly last month. SATONO REVE (11) finished behind a very smart sprinter in the 1200m G1 Chairman's Sprint Prize at Sha Tin during April. Cannot be ignored as he bids to claim this contest representing Hong Kong. STORM BOY (12) disappointed on stable debut. Might bounce back racing for Aidan O'Brien. TOPGEAR (13) also merits consideration.
RACE 4 - G3 Jersey Stakes (1408m)
There could be more to come from the unbeaten REMMOOZ (10) who is trained by Owen Burrows. Maintains a record of two from two after a smooth success at Doncaster (1400m) last time. Will handle this rise in grade. Consider. The Aidan O'Brien-trained COMANCHE BRAVE (4) holds form claims having followed home a G1 French 2000 winner at Leopardstown before finishing fifth behind the G1 St James Palace Stakes hero Field Of Gold in the 1600m G1 Irish 2000 Guineas last month. MARVELMAN (6) was second to the G1 Irish 2000 Guineas runner-up Cosmic Year in the Listed King Charles II Stakes at Newmarket (Rowley) and might be suited by this flatter track. SARACEN (11) is also interesting bringing an unexposed profile.
RACE 5 - Wokingham Stakes (1207m)
SYMBOL OF HONOUR (8) is an honest performer. Looks to hold strong claims making handicap debut. This Charlie Appleby trained gelding has gone from strength to strength over 1200m and could have what it takes to defy this opening rating after claiming the G2 Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock. The progressive MORE THUNDER (21) still might have more to give and cannot be left out of the equation following two handicap wins at Newmarket (Rowley). ARAMRAM (18) finished a nose behind the just mentioned last time, Consider having since gone one spot better tackling this trip at Newbury. JARRAAF (5) and PUROSANGUE (7) are others to note.
RACE 6 - Golden Gates Stakes (2004m)
SERAPH GABRIEL (5) was unlucky to lose when denied a clear run before finishing second at Sandown returning to action. That outing could prove good preparation for this and he can return to winning ways now up to 2000m. Stablemate AUREL (8) battled on well to land a Leicester novice tackling this trip last time. May have more to offer now sent handicapping. Leicester maiden winner ARCHIVIST (18) would be interesting if racing (currently reserve) at near foot of the weights for top connections. French raider BEST SECRET (4) quickened nicely landing a Longchamp handicap over this distance last start. Could be in the mix on his first attempt at Royal Ascot.
RACE 7 - Queen Alexandria Stakes (4355m)
The traditional carnival closer can go the way of SOBER (1) who ran out a smooth winner of a 4000m novice hurdle at Killarney on his reappearance. Can back that up now returning to the flat for Willie Mullins and Ryan Moore. WILD WAVES (11) finished fourth tackling the Listed Premio Carlo D'alessio over 2400m in Italy last time and is interesting stretching out in trip. DALLAS STAR (8) could be in the mix after finishing third among Listed company at Down Royal (3200m) last month. SAMUI (3) completes the shortlist.
