Fashion Faux Pas become the first of what is expected to be many seven-figure lots sold via Inglis Digital in 2025 when she topped the January (Late) Online Sale at $1.15 million.

Offered by Newgate on behalf of the James Harron Bloodstock broodmare partnership, Fashion Faux Pas – who was offered in-foal to Snitzel – sold to Coolmore's Justin Carey.

Her sale comes a fortnight after Coolmore purchased a Snitzel yearling colt out of Fashion Faux Pas for $1.7m at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

"Firstly I want to congratulate James Harron and his partners in Phil Merten, Belinda Bateman, the Doyle family and Love Racing on breeding such a stunning colt that we were so excited to buy a fortnight ago,'' Carey said.

"We're delighted to have bought this mare off them, a group we've had a great relationship with via the likes of King's Legacy and the very exciting 3YO Espionage.

"We look forward with great excitement to the future with Fashion Faux Pas.

"We have a high opinion of these fast American mares that seem to have good chemistry with Snitzel and it's worked with the likes of Switzerland so hopefully we can enjoy similar success in the future with this mare."

Fashion Faux Pas was one of many brilliant results in the January Sale, which ended late on Wednesday with a gross of $5.46m.

Three-year-old Written Tycoon filly National Code – an half-sister to Doncaster Mile winner Celestial Legend – was the second highest-priced lot, purchased by Craig Keiswetter's Ridgmont South Africa for $230,000.

National Code, who is yet to race, will remain in Australia to race in the autumn before travelling to South Africa later this year where a decision will be made on whether she races on or becomes a broodmare.

Three-year-olds Can't Recall One (Reliable Man) and Iconify (I Am Invincible) were the others to sell for six figures, bought respectively by CJ Thoroughbreds and Maree Anderson for $145,000 and $100,000.
