Espionage's Group 1 attempts have not gone to plan this campaign in Melbourne, but the colt's younger half-sister will look to get a win on the board for the family this week at Wednesday's Sandown meeting.

Conscience, who like Espionage was a seven-figure Magic Millions yearling, will make her debut in the $55,000 ive> Handicap (1000m) for two-year-olds.

The daughter of Snitzel is the fourth foal from the Street Cry mare In Times Of War, who is out of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Military Rose and counts the likes of Zeditave and Melito as relations.

Espionage, who cost $1 million at the 2023 Gold Coast Yearling Sale, is the best performed to date, having won two of six starts including the Breeders' Plate (1000m) and Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) at Group 3 level.

He finished midfield in last Saturday's Group 1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington, following a sixth placing in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate two weeks earlier.

Espionage's Breeders' Plate success came before the 2024 Gold Coast Yearling Sale, which no doubt contributed to Conscience selling for $400,000 more than Espionage, who is by Zoustar.

Conscience was bought by Peter Moody, who co-trains her with Katherine Coleman, in partnership with TFI and James Harron, who races Espionage.

Conscience will carry John Camilleri's Fairway Thoroughbreds colours, which will be sported by Blake Shinn, and preparations for the debut have included 800m hitouts at Pakenham and Cranbourne, both of which produced low-key second placings.

Conscience shares the top line of betting with another filly from a famous Magic Millions family, the Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained Sisstainable.

That daughter of I Am Invincible, a $450,000 Gold Coast yearling, is out of the Zoustar mare Sisstar, who is a sister to three-time Group 1 winner and Magic Millions 2YO Classic heroine Sunlight.
