Racegoers who made the early trip to the Champ de Mars this morning were rewarded with a spectacular display of action on both the grass and sand tracks, under picture-perfect conditions.

Barrier Trials – Gujadhur Stable and M. Nunes Make Bold Statement!

Paved With Gold may have proved stubborn when being loaded for the first Barrier Trial, but he showed a good attitude once the gates opened. He pinged to the front and strode clear for a comfortable win, with Pieter Both and Romanus the latter donning blinkers finishing behind.

In the second Barrier Trial, it was all about Crescent, who exploded from the gates and maintained a commanding gallop to finish ahead of Fireflare, who had to be pushed hard to stay in contention.

The third Barrier Trial saw Bugalugs take an early lead over Ampersand and Zil Moris, but the latter unleashed a powerful late burst under vigorous riding to claim victory, with Ampersand and Bugalugs settling for second and third respectively.

Grass Gallops – Wolf Mountain and Good Council Shine Bright

Four Grass Gallops were clocked this morning, with potential runners for the Fashion Heights Duchess Of York Cup showcasing their readiness.

Wolf Mountain caught the eye while galloping comfortably alongside Bon Boyage, who himself showed steady progression in his build-up to a race return.

Returning contender Captain's Consort, fitted with side-winkers and a tongue-tie, worked alongside Brave Bomber, who responded well to his jockey's encouragement in the straight.

Meridius and Menelaus galloped stride for stride in a visually impressive piece of work, with both appearing in top condition.

The final gallop saw Good Council unleash an electric turn of foot in the closing stages to edge out One And All in a strong workout.

Sand Track – Solid Showings Across the Board

Despite the spotlight on the grass, several contenders also impressed during fast workouts on the sand. Among the standouts were Royal Wulff, Goethe, Captain Cola, Global Dollar, Royal Sovereign, Walls Of Dubrovnik, Emerald Band, and Balouchi.

As the build up to the 2025 season continues, the morning's performances gave plenty for turfistes to get excited about.
